Head Coach and Program Director 

Ridgely Biddle created the Bedford Field Hockey program over a decade ago when she wanted her daughters to be able to play field hockey in a nurturing, skills-based environment. Since starting the program, Ridgely has earned a Masters in Physical Education from Manhattanville College and coached hundreds of athletes. Ridgely started playing field hockey in third grade and played for Boston University.  Ridgely coached at  Sacred Heart in Greenwich, CT  for 6 years where she also coached squash, and lacrosse.  She is a field hockey official and currently coaches at the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY.



CathyCousinCathy Cousin


Cathy has been with Bedford Field Hockey for ten years.  She has an extensive background playing and coaching field hockey. She played for SUNY Cortland 1982-1986 and then coached at Ossining High School 1986-1994.   Cathy is famous for having five sons – all of whom are talented athletes.




DebbiWalshDebbi Walsh


Debbie Walsh was appointed the Head Varsity Coach for John Jay High School Field Hockey in July of 2016.   Debbie joined Bedford Field Hockey in 2010.  Debbie’s passion for field hockey was reignited when her daughter started to play.  Deb played for Fairfield University and has been coaching the John Jay Modified team from 2012 to the present.  The John Jay team went undefeated in the 2014 season due to her leadership and emphasis on skills.


                                                  Louisa Polos


IMG_1964   Louisa Polos is thrilled to have joined the Bedford Field Hockey program in 2014. She has coached field hockey and lacrosse at Holy Child, Sacred Heart in Greenwich, CT and Rippowan Cisqua, in addition to teaching responsibilities.  Louisa earned her M.S.E. in Curriculum and Teaching from Fordham University and her B.A. in Political Science from Gettysburg College. She is also a graduate of John Jay High School where she played varsity field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse.
